Long Beach Saṅkrānta 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Councilwoman Suely Saro along with the United Cambodian Community and Long Beach City College will be hosting the first Long Beach Saṅkrānta 2023. (Pronounced San-Kran) Saṅkrānta is the New Year celebration that is observed in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and some parts of India. This inaugural Long Beach Saṅkrānta 2023 promises to be an exciting celebration of culture, music, dance, food, and community.

The celebration will feature a diverse lineup of musical entertainment, including performances by local and international artists. Attendees can also look forward to traditional dances and games, traditional food and merchandise vendors, cultural and music performances showcasing the rich traditions of Saṅkrānta.

In addition, there will be a variety of new year traditional games and activities for people of all ages to participate in. Whether you're interested in trying your hand at Leng Chhoung, Bos Angkunh, or Teanh Prot, there will be something for everyone.

And of course, no Saṅkrānta festival would be complete without a new year party! Join us from 5pm to 10pm for a lively celebration of the new year, complete with delicious food, drinks, music, and dancing.
